In honour of Neil Mitchell, the second TLC Ambulance is about to hit the road, and his name is Mitch!
Let’s rewind to 2002 when Neil played a huge role in backing TLC for Kids. He organised a live appeal on air, dedicating an entire show to raising funds for the charity. Families, board members, and even some celebs chipped in, taking donation calls from the 3AW boardroom. By the end of the three-and-a-half-hour show, they had raised an impressive $150,000.
Mitch, the TLC Ambulance is almost ready to go, but before it can start transporting sick kids, we were in need of $4000 to buy an accessible wheelchair. Within minutes, the 3AW community raised over $14,000.
Recently, the TLC Ambulance took Olivia on a trip, reminding us of the importance of delivering special moments to sick kids and their families. Tim Conolan AM, CEO and Founder, says the new TLC Ambulance, Mitch, will help more terminally ill kids like Olivia, who hadn’t left the hospital for seven months, get out and about with their families.
To Neil Mitchell, everyone at 3AW, and, of course, the community, we are blown away, once again, by the generosity and support for TLC for Kids and our TLC Ambulance.
